The Official Flag of the Nation has its colours distributed in three horizontal stripes, two light blue and one white in the middle, in whose centre it displays a sun in gold colour with thirty-two alternating flaming and straight rays, which reproduces the one that was engraved on the first Argentine coin.
the Coat of Arms, the Flag and the Anthem are symbols of the sovereignty of the Nation and of the majesty of its history
It was created by General Manuel Belgrano on 27 February 1812, in the village of Capilla del Rosario, Pago de los Arroyos, today the city of Rosario. It was consecrated with the same colours "light blue and white" by the Congress of Tucumán on 20 July 1816, owing to an initiative of the deputy Juan José Paso, and ratified by the same body in Buenos Aires, on 25 February 1818, incorporating the Inca sun in the central white stripe.
